Privacy policy

In short

This site doesn't sell or share your data, and it shows no adverts. Analytics only runs if you agree to it. To change your mind at any time, use Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

Who's responsible

This website, lukejamestaylor.com, is run by Luke James Taylor through Design Sprint Ltd ("I", "me"). Design Sprint Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here.

Analytics, only with your consent

When you first visit, you're asked whether I can use analytics cookies. Nothing below loads unless you choose Accept.

Google Analytics tells me which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (country or city), what device and browser they use, and how they found the site. It sets cookies starting with _ga. See Google's privacy policy.

Hotjar shows me how pages are used, such as where people click and how far they scroll, so I can improve them. It collects device and browser details and processes your IP address in a de-identified form. It sets cookies starting with _hj. See Hotjar's privacy policy.

Both services may process data outside the UK, under the safeguards UK data protection law requires.

What's stored in your browser

Your cookie choice is saved in your browser's local storage so you aren't asked again. It isn't used to track you.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

If you get in touch

If you email me, I use your name, email address and anything you include to reply and to talk about working together. I don't add you to a mailing list or pass your details on, and I delete them when they're no longer needed.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, object to how it's used, and withdraw consent at any time. Email lukejamestaylor@me.com. If you're unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Forecourt

My Chrome extension, Forecourt, has its own privacy policy.
